Mamma Mia! is a 2008 musical romantic-comedy film based on the 2001 Broadway musical of the same name, and inspired by the music of Swedish pop band ABBA. The film follows a soon-to-be-married twenty-year-old girl named Sophie as she tries to find out who her father is before her rapidly-approaching wedding.

The film stars an all-star cast of Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, and Christine Baranski, and features music performed by Swedish pop band ABBA.

The film is currently the most successful musical film of all-time, ahead of 1978's Grease starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
